PIA National Launches Commercial Lines Market Access

OCTOBER 22, 2024, WASHINGTON, DC – The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) launched today a new program for PIA members providing them with Commercial Lines access to new markets for Workers’ Compensation, US Longshore and Harbor, and Business Owners Policy (BOP) products. The PIA Commercial Lines Market Access program is a result of PIA’s partnership with Agency Resources, a division of Safehold Special Risk, a property and casualty insurance wholesaler.
Agents who participate in PIA’s Commercial Lines Market Access program will be able to place risks with 17 nationally recognized “A rated” carriers including AMERISAFE, AmTrust North America, AIG, The Hartford, Travelers, RTW, and V3 Insurance. Agents will be able to find coverage for a variety of industries including: plumbing, electrical, short and long haul trucking, landscapers, supermarket, and brewery and winery.
Founded in 1996, Agency Resources works to fulfill a critical need for agents to place small-premium workers’ compensation business outside of the assigned risk market. It serves more than 3,000 brokers who place more than $80 million in premium volume. Its products are only sold through agents and brokers.
“In this current hard market, some agents are having trouble finding coverage for some of their business clients – especially if they have hard to place or a niche risk. Agents want access to more markets, so they have more opportunities to find coverage that fits their clients’ needs,” said Dana Anaman, PIA’s Chief Operating Officer. “Through our Commercial Lines Market Access program, we are helping our members better serve their commercial clients and find them coverage by connecting them with more than a dozen carriers.”
