State Auto Insurance Companies Receive 2021 Company Award of Excellence From the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents
September 28, 2021WASHINGTON – The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) has named State Auto Insurance Companies (State Auto) as the recipient of its prestigious 2021 Company Award of Excellence. The presentation was made on September 23, 2021, during the annual fall meeting of the PIA National Board of Directors held in Detroit, Michigan and in hybrid format. 
“This is our Association’s highest annual company honor,” said PIA National President Wayne F. White. “On the day of State Auto’s founding in 1921, the company’s founder said State Auto would sell its products exclusively through independent agents because they ‘deliver the best and most efficient service to customers. That commitment to independent insurance agents has remained firm throughout State Auto’s 100-year history.’”
“Thanks to State Auto’s long, high degree of engagement with PIA through participation and leadership in our company council, the PIA Partnership, PIA agents have benefited greatly from an energized portfolio of products and services,” White added. “Many PIA members have expressed appreciation for State Auto’s commitment to independent agents and the agency distribution system.
Gerald Ladner, State Auto’s Vice President of Strategic Agency Partnerships and External Relations, serves as the current chairman of the PIA Partnership, PIA’s agency-company council. Previously, State Auto Senior Vice President of Agency Relations (retired) John Petrucci served in the same capacity. Ladner was honored this year as PIA National’s 2021 Company Representative of the Year.
