Progressive Insurance Helps Independent Insurance Agents Impacted by Natural Disasters

with Significant Contribution to PIA’s Disaster Relief Fund

Assisting Agents with Recovery from Natural Disasters

November 13, 2025, WASHINGTON, DC— The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) today announced that Progressive Insurance has contributed $100,000 to the PIA Disaster Relief Fund, part of the PIA Insurance Foundation. PIA members and independent insurance agents impacted by natural disasters, including the recent hurricanes, flooding, tornadoes, wildfires, and other disasters, can apply for funding from the program.

The grants provide important financial relief for agents facing challenges in locations covered by Federal or state declarations of disaster. The Fund helps agents with short- and long-term expenses related to their offices, equipment, and other needs.

“Following catastrophic events, our immediate priority is helping our customers recover as quickly as possible, and we know local independent agents share that same objective,” said Pat Callahan, Personal Lines President of Progressive. “But at the same time, we realize these agents are often dealing with the same issues their customers are facing, so we believe it’s crucial for us to continue to support those who do so much for us and our mutual customers.”

Our goal is to put funding in agents’ hands right away. To that end, we’ve created a quick and simple process for agents to apply for grants,” said Mike Skiados, PIA CEO.

In addition to funding, PIA also provides a crisis resource hub for its members. The hub, Ready for Everything, contains critical information for agents about working remotely, crisis planning, and technology tools. It was produced by The PIA Partnership, the organization’s carrier council, of which Progressive is a member.
