PIA Welcomes 117th Congress

Jan 10, 2021, 16:34 PM by Ted Besesparis
PIA has welcomed members of the new 117th Congress. A new Congress means that all legislation that was introduced but not passed by both chambers and signed into law will now be effectively erased. PIA has already begun working with congressional allies to begin the process of reintroducing legislation important to professional independent insurance agents.

PIA has welcomed members of the new 117th Congress.

“As the 117th  Congress begins its work, PIA will continue to advocate for policies that help independent professional insurance agents protect consumers: a strong National Flood Insurance Program and crop insurance program; permanent tax relief for small busines owners who organize as passthroughs; and opposition to proposals that chip away at our robust state insurance regulatory system,” said Jon Gentile, PIA National vice president of government relations.

“In addition, PIA will continue our work with Congress on a legislative response to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, focused on providing immediate relief to small businesses and enabling them to survive in the current economic climate,” Gentile said. “PIA looks forward to working with both new and returning members of Congress to accomplish these goals.”
